Our Luxury Golden Triangle Tour with Oberoi Hotels, as the name suggests, invites you to explore the best of India’s Golden Triangle (aka the bustling cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) whilst staying in the fabulous Oberoi hotels. It’s an award-winning combination for the ultimate in luxury and style. The readers of Travel+Leisure magazine voted the Oberoi hotels as the ‘Best in the World’, and it’s easy to see why: these spectacular properties exudes elegance and sophistication, whilst retaining an authentic Indian flavour. From taking in an undisturbed view of the Taj Mahal from your own private balcony at Agra’s Oberoi Amarvilas, to unleashing your inner maharaja and maharani at the Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur, when paired with our passionate guides, courteous drivers and fine attention to detail this makes a fabulous introduction for those wanting to dip their toes into India whilst ensuring a truly dignified stay. Do bear in mind however that this luxury Golden Triangle tour with Oberoi hotels is merely a starting point designed to share a flavour of the possibilities – it can be tweaked or completely transformed until we’ve tailor-made your ideal journey.
Arrive in Delhi (stay at the Oberoi, Delhi)
Your Luxury Golden Triangle Tour with Oberoi Hotels kicks off upon landing in Delhi airport, where a member of our team will be waiting to greet you and accompany you to the Oberoi, New Delhi. The remainder of the day will be yours at leisure to relax, settle in and recover from your journey. The swanky Oberoi New Delhi is perfect for those who’re seeking excellent service with a range of facilities and is one of the capital’s best luxury hotels. Having recently re-opened after an extensive two-year renovation, the Oberoi boasts the most luxurious rooms in the capital and state-of-the-art clean air technology. However, those who prefer history and colonial art will be happier at the Imperial, and for high-octane Indian glamour, the Leela Palace is perfect. Another comparable alternative is the Lodhi, which is well suited to those seeking understated and contemporary, Aman-style luxury. With all our tours being tailor-made, every detail would be designed around you; from the destinations to the experiences and hotels.
A guided tour of both Old and New Delhi today will introduce you to the Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Parliament House, Humayun’s Tomb and the Sikh temple. There’s a great deal to see in Delhi and these are merely our suggestions; our flexible approach allows you to tweak the schedule with your guide on the day, to better suit your tastes. After a busy day of sightseeing, we’d suggest dining at the Oberoi this evening, though we have a number of suggestions in the city if you’d like to dine out (favourites include Indian Accent and Bukhara).
Delhi to Agra (stay at the Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra)
This morning you’ll proceed to the next stop on your luxury Golden Triangle tour with Oberoi hotels – Agra; home of the magnificent Taj Mahal, and the exquisite Oberoi Amarvilas. After having had the chance to freshen up over lunch, you’ll be met by your guide to explore Agra Fort, followed by the Taj Mahal in its most beautiful light – glowing a warm orange at sunset. Back at the Oberoi Amarvilas this evening, your Premier Room affords a wonderful view of the monument. Without the restriction of visiting hours, you can catch the Taj Mahal glittering in the moonlight after dark or a peachy pink at dawn. Or, for a truly special experience we’d recommend upgrading to the Premier Room with Balcony – where, as the name suggests, you have your own private terrace with a view of the Taj Mahal. Enjoy a drink out on your balcony, gazing at the Taj Mahal, for the ultimate luxury India experience.
Agra to Ranthambhore (stay at The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambhore)
Explore the 15th century Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri this morning – it was abandoned after just 14 years. Later, you’ll board the train to Ranthambhore. Though Ranthambhore is not technically part of India’s Golden Triangle, it makes a fabulous addition – the forest surroundings are a peaceful change of pace after the bustle of Delhi and Agra, and spotting a tiger in its natural habitat is an exhilarating experience. Furthermore, the luxurious Oberoi Vanyavilas here in Ranthambhore is an experience not to be missed: it’s often our guest’s favourite of all the Oberoi hotels, and we’d have to agree! The perfect contrast to the ruggedness of Ranthambhore National Park, each Luxury Tent at the Oberoi Vanyavilas is draped in fine fabric, dotted with traditional Rajasthani block-printed motifs. The beautiful free standing claw-foot bathtub is a glamorous touch. If wildlife’s not your thing though please don’t let that put you off, we can always remove Ranthambhore in favour of heading straight to Jaipur.
Bring the Jungle Book to life today as you travel through the Indian jungle on a private Jeep safari (both morning and afternoon drives are recommended). The most famous resident of Ranthambhore National Park is the beautiful Bengal tiger, and sighting one in the wild is a truly exhilarating experience. Even if you’re not lucky enough to spot one, what you’re guaranteed to see a colourful array of birds, animals and plants, peacocks, monkeys, deer and crocodiles. Between safaris, there’ll be a few hours to relax and enjoy your surroundings at the Oberoi Vanyavilas, though if you’re feeling active we’d recommend climbing Ranthambhore Fort. This 10th century citadel rests majestically on the edge of the forest and offers spectacular views from its peak.
Ranthambhore to Jaipur (stay at The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur)
Day six of your luxury Golden Triangle tour with Oberoi hotels brings you to Jaipur, also known as India’s ‘Pink City’. Upon arriving in Jaipur, you’ll check in to the Oberoi Rajvilas and the rest of the afternoon is yours at leisure. There’s not many hotels in the world where check-in involves a brightly painted elephant and a fragrant shower of rose petals, but then again the Oberoi Rajvilas does not settle for anything less than spectacular! The resort is almost a destination in itself, with sprawling gardens and a 250-year-old Hindu temple in the grounds. The signature Oberoi service is attentive, yet unobtrusive. The Oberoi Rajvilas even employ a handful of staff with the sole responsibility of shooing pigeons from the pool! One of the finest hotels in India’s Golden Triangle, the Oberoi Rajvilas is a great choice for those seeking luxury and a royal experience.
A full day of guided sightseeing in the Pink City, today. Begin the day at the splendid Amber Fort, later taking in the City Palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory, and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Later we’d recommend visiting Dera Amer for an unforgettable evening with elephants. Dera Amer is a peaceful spot on the rural outskirts of Jaipur, where guests are invited to spend time with these magnificent creatures, helping bathe and feed them, before taking a gentle ride together at sunset. If this doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, we have a number of other unique excursions available, from private cooking classes to hot air balloon rides.
Jaipur back to Delhi, depart
The morning’s at your leisure in Jaipur, to relax and enjoy the hotel or further explore at your own pace. Your chauffeur is always on hand to take you anywhere you may like to go. You might like to take this opportunity to browse for interesting souvenirs in Jaipur’s famous markets and emporiums – when it comes to shopping, Jaipur has something for everyone: from elegant textiles to kitschy wooden camels, even the most frugal visitor is likely to leave the Pink City with one or two pieces tucked in their case! For a souvenir with local fair, we’d recommend a piece of semi-precious jewellery or blue pottery. Your luxury Golden Triangle tour with Oberoi hotels then concludes as you return to Delhi. Here, a room at the Oberoi Gurgaon is yours to freshen up in, followed by dinner at their award-winning restaurant, Amaranta. You’ll then be chauffeured to the airport for your early hours departure. Alternatively, if your flight is departing in the morning, we can always reserve a room through the night for you. This would be tailored to best suit your international flight arrangements.
